For its purposes, the Colleges' Graduate Scholarship Committee defines a full-time graduate student as a student enrolled in at least 9 credit hours per semester for an academic year. A graduate teaching, research, or administrative assistant is considered to be a full-time student if he or she is enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per semester for an academic year.

Scholarship recipients are selected annually during the spring semester which PRECEDES the academic year to which the award will be applied. Recipients will be announced in April during the College of Education Honors Day convocation. All applicants will be notified by letter of the disposition of their applications within a month following the convocation.

Generally, scholarships are awarded for one academic year; however, some may be renewable, offering the recipient an opportunity to receive funding for a subsequent year or years. A recipient MUST request consideration for continuation in a letter submitted with an updated application. Renewal requests are subject to review and evaluation by the Scholarship Committee. A request does NOT guarantee renewal. A nonrenewable scholarship will not be awarded to an individual more than once.

Each scholarship is awarded in two equal installments. One installment is made during the fall semester; the other is made during the spring semester. Receipt of the second installment is contingent upon the recipient's continued maintenance of the eligibility requirements established by the respective scholarship.
