Withdrawal - Impact on Tuition Charges & Grants

Where a student resigns from an assistantship, or is dismissed, or withdraws from classes, the effect on tuition charges and grants depends upon the student’s FTE and the timing of the withdrawal.

Reduced tuition grants are computed on the following basis:

appointment ended during 1^st week	no tuition grant
appointment ended during 2^nd to 4^th week	25% of initial grant
appointment ended after 4^th week	50% of initial grant

Reduced tuition charges are computed on the following basis:

Appointment ended during 1st week no tuition charge

Appointment ended during 2nd to 4th week 25% tuition charge

Appointment ended during 4th to 8th week 50% tuition charge

Appointment ended after 8th week 100% tuition charge

This will mean that where a student withdraws after the 8^th week they will be charged 100% of their original tuition charges but will receive only 50% of their original tuition grant.
