Application Submission Dates

Note: All applicants should take care to submit all required application material according to department deadlines. Many departments have early deadlines. Contact the office of the department or program in which you plan to major for specific application and financial assistance deadlines. All application materials should be submitted to the Graduate School at least 6 weeks in advance of departmental deadlines. To ensure that application materials are complete and ready for review by departments, all applicants should continuously check the status of their applications (at http://mybama.ua.edu or emailing the Graduate School (usgradapply@aalan.ua.edu for U.S. citizens or intergradapply@aalan.ua.edu for international applicants).

If there is not an earlier department deadline, submit your applications according to the following deadlines:

NOTES:

1. U.S. citizens or permanent residents are expected to complete their application at least six weeks before the anticipated date of registration. Some departments have established earlier deadlines for receipt of application materials. In those cases, please complete your application with the Graduate School six weeks prior to the departmental deadline. If you are requesting admission and financial aid for the fall semester, your application should be completed before February 15.

 

2. International applicants outside of U.S. are expected to submit their applications at least eight months before the anticipated date of registration. If an international applicant is currently residing inside the U.S. then he or she should apply at least four months before the registration. An applicant whose application is completed well in advance of our deadlines will be more likely to be admitted and to receive his or her admission and immigration materials in time for visa and travel arrangements to be made. If you are also requesting financial aid for the fall semester, your application should be completed before February 15.
