Dana Steil is a first year Computer Science PhD student from Searcy AR. He is on leave from Harding University where he serves as an assistant professor of Computer Science. Dana is a 2007 UA Graduate Council Fellowship recipient. He came to the University of Alabama to work with CRDL (Care Research and Development Laboratory) under the direction of Dr. Allen Parrish. His research focuses on geospatial analysis of crash data in order to make resource allocation recommendations. Dana has taken a leading role in organizing a local GIS users group and made his first conference presentation at the 4th Annual GIS Symposium at Troy University. Dana and his wife Mandy have four children ages seven and under. They have quickly become Bama fans!
