Dara received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Hinds Community College in Jackson, MS. She then enrolled at the University of Alabama to obtain her BSN while working full-time as a Neonatal Intensive Care nurse, and graduated Magna Cum Laude in August of 2002. After receiving a commission in the United States Air Force, she went into active duty January of 2004. She has since been stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, and Balad Air Base in Iraq. She is currently completing a Master of Science in Nursing Case Management via distance education while continuing her military service in Okinawa, Japan.
