Raluca is a PhD candidate in chemistry. Her current research is focused on the use of advanced computational chemistry techniques to predict the properties of transition metal containing molecules with an emphasis on catalytic properties and reactions. Raluca obtained her bachelor’s (2002) and her master’s (2004) degrees from the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University, Iasi, Romania. Raluca is a 2008 recipient of the Graduate Council Dissertation Fellowship. She is a student member of the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) and the American Chemical Society (ACS). She also serves as a Graduate Ambassador for UA. After graduating from the University of Alabama Raluca plans to seek a post-doctoral appointment followed by an academic position at a research university.
