Danny Smith – MBA

Danny Smith is an MBA student with a concentration in Finance. He is a 2009 Lewis Manderson Mentorship Award recipient and works as a graduate assistant with the Executive MBA program. Danny is a co-founder and active member of the University of Alabama Entrepreneurship Club and a was a member of the Manderson Graduate School of Business competition team that recently placed third in the 2009 George Washington University International MBA Case Competition. He is involved in mentoring students going through internship and job searches and preparing for competitions, has facilitated workshops for aspiring entrepreneurs and was a member of the Rising Tide MBA team that organized a clean-up and rehabilitation effort with the University of Alabama Arboretum. Danny began his career as an auditor in commercial finance, and subsequently completed courses with the Commercial Finance Association (CFA) and International Factoring Association (IFA). Upon graduation in May, he plans to pursue a career in commercial banking. Danny is originally from Boaz, AL and in his spare time enjoys golf, music, and traveling.
