Alisha Gaines – College of Human Environmental Sciences

Alisha Gaines is a doctoral student in the Health Education and Health Promotion program in the Department of Health Sciences. A Millbrook, AL native, Alisha received her bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition from the University of Alabama in 2005 following completion of the Coordinated Program in Dietetics. She received her master’s degree in Nutrition and Food Science from Auburn University in 2008. Her research interests lie in areas of childhood obesity and food insecurity. Alisha serves on the CHES Research Committee and was the recipient of a 2008 Graduate Council Fellowship. She is currently a teaching assistant in the Department of Human Nutrition and Hospitality Management.
