Sarita Stewart is a PhD student in the College of Communication and Information Studies. Sarita graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Business Administration. She worked in Los Angeles with legendary record company executive Mike Curb. While in Los Angeles, Sarita attained a MBA at Claremont Graduate University. She was transferred to the Curb Records Nashville headquarters, with a promotion to Director of Marketing. Sarita eventually moved on to become the U.S. Marketing Director for the Vienna-based microphone and headphone manufacturer, AKG Acoustics. She later left AKG to become an artist manager while teaching public relations and marketing classes as an adjunct in the Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business at Nashville’s Belmont University. Sarita became a full-time instructor in the Entertainment Industry Studies program three years ago, and has maintained her faculty status while working on her PhD. While at Alabama, Sarita has received UA’s Graduate Council Fellowship award.
