Ren Gee – Social Work

  • August 20th, 2011
Ren Gee is pursuing a Master of Social Work degree. She first became interested in the field of social work in college while working in politics, during which time she spent many hours in the community talking with struggling families. After college, Ren moved to Chicago, where she spent a year working as a nanny and volunteering for President Barack Obama’s campaign. Already passionate about working with troubled families, the death of her brother due to complications caused by drug and alcohol abuse led Ren to begin planning a career in substance abuse and recovery. This fall she will be completing an internship at Brewer Porch Children’s Center, where she will be working with children who struggle with behavioral problems. Ren recently celebrated her first wedding anniversary with her husband, David, and enjoys spending time with him and their bulldog puppy, Moe. She looks forward to graduating in December.
