Despite being born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Grace Hudgins always knew that she wanted to go to The University of Alabama. She graduated in December 2014 from The University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and is currently a Masters of Accountancy candidate. Grace will begin her career in Atlanta with PricewaterhouseCoopers in September 2016.
One of the most rewarding experiences that Grace has had during her time at The University of Alabama is working on the executive team of the Culverhouse LIFT program. LIFT is a volunteer initiative that aims to tutor both the disadvantaged adult and teen population of Tuscaloosa in computer, financial, and career preparation skills. Every day Grace is amazed how University of Alabama students are able to impact these communities. The participants in the LIFT program gain vital skills that are necessary in today’s technology centered world. Grace considers herself very fortunate to have been part of an awesome team that has restructured a great program into a sustainable business. She particularly thanks Lisa McKinney for being a positive mentor.
