Brandon Chicotsky – Communication and Information Sciences

Brandon Chicotsky is a Ph.D. student in Communication and Information Sciences (C&IS) and has lectured in the following courses: Investigations and Insights (APR 280); Public Relations Writing (APR 332); Mass Communications (MC 101); and The Business of Celebrity in Social Media (Taught in the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute). Brandon earned his Bachelors from The University of Texas at Austin, and his Masters in Management from New York University where he finished ranked #1 in his graduate class. During his Masters program, Chicotsky developed the early-stages of his research on brand image construction, which have been expanded during his Ph.D. tenure. Since enrolling in 2014, Chicotsky has had three papers presented or accepted at academic conferences (National Communication Association Conference, Nov. 22, 2015; Marketing Edge Research Summit, Oct. 4th, 2015; and Southern States Communication Association Conference, 2016). Chicotsky’s research also earned him the first place award for The University of Alabama 2014 Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition. Chicotsky went on to win a People’s Choice Award at the 2015 Conference of Southern Graduate Schools (CSGS) U.S. Regional Competition. Along with teaching and research, Chicotsky serves on the Ph.D. Taskforce Implementation Subcommittee for Recruitment in C&IS. He also organizes and leads winter and summer professional development trips to Silicon Valley, Seattle, and Austin for top-performing students.
