I am currently working on my PhD in Educational Psychology. My research interests are focused on how people experience mathematical fractions in terms of their emotional response and motivation orientation. I am also interested in Educational Neuroscience and applying that to fraction research. I am a first-generation college student and have only lived in Tuscaloosa for 3 years. I moved here from Albuquerque, New Mexico which is home to the largest hot-air balloon festival in the world. My favorite thing about graduate school is that, even though expectations are high, there’s always somewhere to turn for support. Between the advisors and the various graduate school organizations, you can always find someone to help you work through this journey.
