Donna Thomasson Smith is a doctoral candidate in Music Education. She holds degrees from the University of Kentucky and the University of Florida. She is active on campus as a Graduate Student Association Delegate, on the College of Education Graduate Student Organization Advisory Council, Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society, and the National Alumni National Association and Tuscaloosa Chapter. Donna is a GTA and the Music Education GTA Coordinator in the School of Music. She volunteers on campus with the REACH program that serves students who aged out of the foster system or live in guardianships. She serves as the Chair of the Executive Board for the REACH Advisory Council. She hopes to become a professor and help collegiates of various programs develop their career and personal skills for a more significant impact on the job market and society. An advocate for all students, Donna strives to bring a heightened awareness of basic kindness and appreciation for student differences in her classes. In her spare time, Donna enjoys attending a wide variety of university events with her husband, Alex, and going on walks with their rescue pups, P.J. and Lizzie.
