Joseph Bannerman is a master's student majoring in Women's Studies from Birmingham, AL. He is a graduate of Tuskegee University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in political science. He is a member of the African American Graduate Student Association, where he serves as Secretary. He is also a member of the Gamma Sigma chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., the NAACP, and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International. Additionally, he is a graduate teaching assistant in the Gender & Race Studies department. After completing his master's, he plans to attend law school and receive his J.D. in order to serve as an advocate for those unable to advocate for themselves. Joseph is particularly passionate about voting rights access, criminal justice reform, LGBT rights, and economic justice.
