Kim Jacks is a Ph.D. student from Nanjemoy, MD. She is currently majoring in Comparative Politics with minors in American Politics and International Relations. She is a graduate of Susquehanna University. In addition to serving on the Graduate Student Association Executive Council, she serves as the Vice President of the Political Science Graduate Student Association and an Assistant Team Leader for the Education, Advocacy, and Training Team with the Center for Service and Leadership (CSL). She is also a member of the Black Faculty and Staff Association Ambassadors, the African American Graduate Student Association, and the Birmingham Alumnae chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha. Kim has a passion for building community amongst and connecting graduate students at the Capstone. Additionally, she is a graduate teaching assistant in the Political Science department. After completing her PhD, she hopes to be a professor or pursue research in international politic. She is especially interested in women’s representation in politics, higher education policy, Latin American Politics, and democratization and authoritarianism.
