Marie Winchester is a master’s student within the College of Arts and Science’s Political Science department. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The University of Alabama. She began her master’s through the Accelerated Masters Program.
Currently, she serves as the Graduate Student Association’s Vice President of Operations. Within Political Science, her major is Comparative Politics, with an interest in Latin American Politics. This includes regime change, human rights concerns, and how nations develop. Her minors include International Relations and American Politics.
Marie values opportunities to be well-rounded and connect with people. She has worked as a Project Health Intern, as a Learning Assistant for the Astronomy Department, a Resident Assistant, and she has visited Guatemala to study human rights and development through a faculty-led study abroad program. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and baking, learning about any topic she can, and reading
