Raven Young

Advertising & Public Relations MA

Raven Young is a second-year master’s student from Marietta, GA. She is currently majoring in Public Relations and Advertising in the College of Communication and Information Sciences. Raven is a graduate of The University of Alabama with her undergraduate studies in Political Science and News Media.

During her undergraduate years at the Capstone, Raven has been involved in the following organizations: News Reporter Intern for WVUA 23 News, 1st and 2nd Vice President of the Lambda Zeta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority, Inc., Features and Graphics Editor for Joie de Vivre, College of Communication and Information Sciences Ambassador, News Media Delegate for the Student Executive Council, First Year Interest Group leader, member of Delight Ministries, Communication and Media Preview (CAMP) Leader, and Industry Immersion Participant.

Her current involvement includes working for The University of Alabama’s Housing and Residential Communities as a Community Director, serving on the Graduate Student Association Executive Council as the Vice President for Public Relations, and Adobe Campus Ambassador, and working as a Pure Barre Instructor at Pure Barre Tuscaloosa.

Raven plans to receive her Master of Arts in Public Relations and Advertising in May of 2024 and continue her journey at the Capstone through the Communication and Information Science (CIS) Doctoral Program. Then she plans to work full-time for a technological corporate company in their Public Relation and Communications Department as a Public Relations Manager. Raven’s main interests are Public Relations, Marketing, Diversity Equity, and Inclusion Studies, Artificial Intelligence, and advocating for Physical and Mental Health.
