Rebecca Oliver is a doctoral student, course instructor, and research assistant at the University of Alabama in Communication and Information Sciences. Rebecca studies rhetoric and political discourse at the intersection of social identity and ideology. The questions Rebecca is concerned with ask how ideology is communicated and constructed within the discourse about identities. Mainly, Rebecca researches how political figures communicate their gender and partisan identities in speeches and campaign discourse.

Additionally, regarding pedagogy, Rebecca researches the application of rhetorical approaches to teaching oral performance courses. Rebecca received her Master of Arts in Communication from Auburn University in 2019 and then taught public speaking full-time at Auburn for two years.
