The College of Education is offering expedited graduate admissions for eligible UA seniors. All May and August 2020 graduates who meet GPA requirements are eligible to apply through the Graduate Quick Admit Program and receive expedited review and response for the Summer and Fall 2020 terms.

Some College of Education programs can be pursued online or on campus and offer the choice between a thesis or non-thesis plan of study.

The Quick Admit Program is open to eligible May and August 2020 College of Education graduates wishing to pursue a master’s degree in the same program as their undergraduate major.

Application Requirement Waivers

While none of the programs in the College of Education offer an automatic admission option, expedited review waives the following standard requirements:

  • Application fee
  • Statement of Purpose (SOP)*
  • Letters of recommendation
  • GRE

*A few programs (listed below) may require a SOP or writing sample.

Requisite GPA

  • 3.0+ qualifies for expedited application review

Students from a different undergraduate major may apply to College of Education graduate programs through standard admission routes. The GRE requirement and application fee are waived for all Fall 2020 Education applicants, regardless of undergraduate major or GPA.

  • English Language Arts
  • French, German, Latin, or Spanish

Undergraduate major must be Music Education for

  • Secondary Education/MA (Music Education)

Expedited Review

For English for Speakers of Other Languages, the undergraduate major must be one of the following:

  • Elementary Education
  • Secondary Education
  • Music Education
  • Special Education
  • Kinesiology with a concentration in Physical Education
