GradACTS Ongoing Series

Graduate Teaching Assistant Training

In partnership with the Graduate School, the UA Teaching Academy offers a series of graduate teaching workshops to build foundational instructional skills. Each workshop focuses on one of three core teaching domains – instructional methods, assessment or instructional technology. GTAs can earn digital badges in each of these three domains by attending three workshops and completing a required deliverable.

CREST Training Series

The Compliance and Research Ethics for Science and Technology (CREST) Series takes an innovative approach to RCR training by providing University of Alabama investigators with a series of enrichment opportunities intended to promote and maintain a culture of ethical research and innovation. CREST Series webinars are typically one hour long and open to all UA students, faculty, and staff.

Graduate Write Night

In partnership with the Writing Center, join us for Write Night at Gorgas Library, held bi-weekly on Tuesdays from 6-8 PM! this event offers a supportive environment where graduate students can focus on their writing projects. Tutors will be available to provide feedback and guidance, helping you refine your work and stay on track. Whether you’re working on a dissertation, thesis, or any other writing task, Write Night is the perfect space to make progress.

Graduate Student Support Group

Join our Graduate Student Support Group, hosted in partnership with the Counseling Center! This small group provides a safe and supportive space to connect with fellow graduate students and share experiences. Whether you’re managing stress, academic challenges, or just need a place to talk, we’re here to help. The group meets every Friday from 3:30 to 4:30 PM. All graduate students are welcome!
