UA's Strategic Plan for Graduate Education articulates campus-wide goals that will guide initiatives and investments across campus, to expand and strengthen graduate education.
The five-year Strategic Plan (2022-2026) was created by a joint committee of Graduate Council representatives, Faculty Senate representatives, and members nominated by college deans. They outlined goals and strategies that will guide both the Graduate School and academic units in aligning graduate education to UA’s ambitious goals as a Carnegie R1 (Doctoral: Very High Research Activity) institution.
The Graduate Council formulates graduate policy. It develops and recommends necessary rules, regulations, policies, and guidelines that govern academic programs leading to advanced degrees.
This body also recommends admission, retention, and graduation requirements for graduate students. The Dean of the Graduate School is ex-officio chairperson of the Council and is responsible for the administration of the regulations and requirements for advanced degrees.
The Graduate School partners with academic programs and colleges to support students’ progress toward their goals. Please contact us if we can help you find the information you need, beyond the primary sources below.
