Save the date! The UA Graduate School Campus Preview Day is held on the second Monday in October every year.

Sunday, October 13 at 7:30 p.m.: Dinner at Avenue Pub – Downtown Tuscaloosa

Optional for those who arrive the night before. A shuttle will be provided to and from Hotel Capstone.

Monday, October 14:

9:30 a.m.: Check in opens

10:00 a.m.: Welcome and Introductions

10:15 a.m.: Graduate School Overview and Funding Opportunities

10:45 a.m.: Campus and Downtown Tuscaloosa Tour

12:15 p.m: Current Student Panel

1:00 p.m.: Lunch

1:45 p.m.: Program Meetings/Facility Tours

3:45: Wrap Up/ Conclusion

4:00: Depart Campus

Transportation

The closest international airport is the Birmingham International Airport located in Birmingham, Alabama, approximately 63 miles or one hour from UA’s campus.

A shuttle service will be provided to and from the Birmingham International Airport in Birmingham, Alabama at the following times:

From airport to campus:

  • Sunday, October 13th
    • 6:00 p.m.: pick up at airport*
  • *may pick up earlier than 6 p.m. if all flights arrive before then
  • Monday, October 14th
    • 8:30 a.m.: pick up at Holiday Inn – Birmingham Airport
    • 9 a.m.: pick up at airport
    • 10:00 a.m.: arrive on campus

From campus to airport or Holiday Inn- Birmingham Airport:

  • Monday, October 14th
    • 4:15 p.m.: depart campus
    • 5:15 p.m.: Arrive at airport
    • 5:30 p.m.: Arrive at Holiday Inn – Birmingham Airport
  • Tuesday, October 15th
    • 8 a.m.: depart Capstone Hotel*
    • 9 a.m.: arrive at airport

*may leave earlier than 8 a.m. if there is a need

Hotel Accommodations:

A block of rooms has been reserved at Hotel Capstone, UA’s hotel on campus, for Sunday and Monday night. Once registered, you will receive a link in your e-mail to book and pay for your room. Complimentary breakfast is included in your stay.

If needed, you must book your stay at the Holiday Inn – Birmingham Airport separately. We strongly recommend staying at Hotel Capstone, if possible.

Covered Expenses:

  • Shuttle to and from Birmingham airport
  • Shuttle to and from Capstone Hotel to dinner on Sunday evening
  • Shuttle to and from event location from Hotel Capstone on Monday
