UA Graduate School Preview Day

Campus Preview Day is only offered in an in-person format. Those who cannot attend in person are encouraged to register for a virtual information session.

Spring 2026 Schedule

Thursday, February 26 at 7 p.m.: Dinner at Local Restaurant – Downtown Tuscaloosa 

Optional for those traveling from out of town and arriving on Thursday evening. A shuttle will be provided to and from Home2Suites. 

Friday, February 27:

9:30 a.m.: Check In Opens

10:00 a.m.: Welcome and Introductions

10:15 a.m.: Graduate School Overview and Funding Opportunities

10:45 a.m.: Campus and Downtown Tuscaloosa Tour

12:15 p.m.: Current Student Panel

1:00 p.m.: Lunch

1:45 p.m.: Program Meetings/Facility Tours – set up by Graduate School staff; prospective students may request to meet with specific faculty on registration form. If students are already in contact with certain faculty, please note that on form.

3:15 p.m.: Wrap Up/Conclusion

3:30 p.m.: Depart Campus

Transportation

The closest international airport is the Birmingham International Airport located in Birmingham, Alabama, approximately 63 miles or a one hour drive from UA’s campus.

A free shuttle service will be provided to and from the Birmingham International Airport in Birmingham, Alabama at the following times:

From Airport to Campus:

• Thursday, February 26:
  • 5:30 p.m.: Pick Up at Airport*
  • 6:30 p.m.: Arrive at Home2Suites
    
    *May pick up earlier than 5:30 p.m. if all flights arrive before then.
    
• Friday, February 27:
  • 8:30 a.m.: Pick Up at Airport
  • 9:30 a.m.: Arrive on Campus
    

From Campus to Airport:

• Friday, February 27:
  • 3:30 p.m.: Depart Campus
  • 4:30 p.m.: Arrive at Airport

• Saturday, February 28
  • 8:00 a.m.: Depart Home2Suites*
  • 9:00 a.m.: Arrive at Airport

*May leave later than 8 a.m. if all flights depart later than 11 a.m.

Hotel Accommodations:

A block of rooms has been reserved at Home2Suites for Thursday and/or Friday nights. Each room sleeps up to four people and includes free breakfast. Once registered, you will receive a link in your e-mail to book and pay for your room. The last day to book a room at this rate online is Tuesday, January 27. After this date, guests may call the hotel directly to check availability and book through Wednesday, February 18.

Covered Expenses:

• Shuttle to and from Birmingham airport
• Shuttle to and from hotel to dinner on evening before
• Shuttle to and from event location and hotel on day of event
• All meals:
  • Thursday dinner (if arriving from out of town on Thursday night and staying at Home2Suites)
  • Friday breakfast
