The words “publish or perish” are familiar to those in the academic world. As part of its mission to provide quality professional development experiences, the Graduate School has engaged the services of George Thompson, a veteran of the publishing industry, to offer our graduate students tips and techniques on how to navigate the publishing process, whether it is for journal articles or books.


GROUP SESSIONS: INTRODUCTION TO ACADEMIC PUBLISHING

We invite all graduate students, particularly those in their first year of a doctoral or terminal degree, to come to a group session by Mr. Thompson. Our session will focus on those wishing to publish books as well as articles in refereed journals.

INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS

We also offer individual one-on-one sessions with Mr. Thompson where you can discuss your work. Mr. Thompson will assist you in formulating a timeline and develop strategies to publish your research. Please be prepared to send the Graduate School a manuscript, draft, and/or your CV for Mr. Thompson when you register.
